Starting A Workout Goal

03 Jan 2021 - David Arve

It’s a new year (finally) and a lot of you are ready to start working out (finally 😉).

A common mistake is to set goals that are too hard to reach. I prefer to set two goals. A base goal that is easy to reach, and a stretch goal that’s more ambitious.

I want to workout four times a week, but between work and two kids, I know that won’t always happen. So I have a base goal to workout twice a week and a stretch goal to workout four times a week.

There’s really no way of completing a goal unless there’s a beginning and an end. My goal is six weeks long, then I’ll set a new goal.

To make it easy for me, I created the app Träning. It syncs with Apple Health so I can use any other workout app when working out (e.g. Strava, Runkeeper, Strong, Fitness+ etc). All my workouts show up in the app.

If you think that sounds like a good idea, you can download the app here. It’s free, but you can pay a small amount if you want to set more advanced workout goals.

Happy New Year! 🥳

PS. The app is currently only available for iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch. If you’re interested in the Android version, send me an email david@traning.app and I’ll let you know when it’s finished.
